Kirsten grew up just outside of Washington D.C, with the nation’s capital always at her fingertips. The buzz of an urban environment, rich with culture and ideas helped shape her personality and verve for progressive conversation; what are the possibilities? In contrast, she chose a quiet small liberal arts college in New Hampshire to seek her Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies. Think clear skies and quiet nights on a small New England campus, just outside of Boston.
During these years, Kirsten’s parents were working overseas with the World Health Organization and she was able to spend time with them during holiday and break. From the cobblestone canals and alleys of Delft, Holland to the tribal and very remote hills of Papua New Guinea, Kirsten was always exploring outside the box while setting a strong foundation to come home to. With a secure sense of family, adventure and experience in short and long haul domestic and international travel, Kirsten finally landed and found herself starting a family of her own, as well as co-owning a travel company in Boulder, CO where she is today.
Both of her girls are now young adults and have recently left the ‘nest’. Drawing on her lifelong experience of transition, change, flexibility, motherhood, business ownership and the list goes on, she is now an expert in how to prepare, re-frame and keep her sense of identity, while launching two young adults in to the world and out of the nest.
Kirsten can add an outside perspective and tools for you too, on how to keep recreating yourself as a busy contemporary and active professional while embracing your children’s passion’s of their own. An empty nest is not really empty, if you learn how to fill it with a new and exciting focus!
Work – is there more meaningful work you want to contribute to your global community but don’t know yet what that is or how to make it happen? Alternatively, how can we help you make your current work more rewarding?
Personal – do you have a family member or friend that you keep going in circles with but who is important to you to, enough to work it out? Maybe its time to build back up your strength and recognize your own presence?
Emotional – what if we woke up every day feeling charged with positive energy, able to fill our emotional battery with some power to tackle the big stuff each day? And, what if we knew when to power down, and that its okay?
Physical – our bodies host our thoughts, our blood, our oxygen, our dreams, our love, our forgiveness and our ability to be the best we can be, let’s be sure we are honoring what our bodies need.
